VSHR4, pink, kiwi and riding red hood.

For this card I have used the new in colours from SU, the new pink, kiwi and riding red hood. I made 2 cards like this and the other one had fake stitching around the flowers but I have sent it away already and the computer wouldn't take the memory card from my one camera.............grrrr,

so I made another picture with my Rebel and the computer was being nice to me. Anyway, enough complaining, when I looked for a colour combo at SCS I never thought I would put those colours together but I love it.

The bird is a Martha Stewart punch and the saying is from VERVE stamps!!

Now I am off to my kitchen and start dinner preparations, we are having company tonight, then some cleaning and while I am doing that I can think about sketch number 5.

VSHR3, the third Verve sketch

The third sketch already, too much fun!

For this sketch I have used a cute stamp from snag 'm stamps and coloured the image with twinkling H2O's and a little bit of stickles.

The sentiment is from Verve stamps.

I am happy with this card, love this colour combo.

I used one of my old favourite SU stamps, coloured on it with markers.

There are some crystal Stickles on the flowers, the picture doesn't do the card justice but I cann't seem to get a better one.

VSHR1, another challenge!!

Another Christmas card, this is the first year I have made so many different designs, usually I pick one or two and work with them.

This one is done with a really old SU set, I think it is called Holiday Peace, but I am not sure, for the challenge from Julee, VSHR1, check it out

It's a quick and simple card, I like it, around the scalloped circle I have used liquid pearls.

I am convinced now that there is not enough time in a day!!

For this card I used some flowers I bought a while ago, the pink came from my stash and the celery piece is done with the CB dots, sentiment from SU, some black ribbon, silver brads and stickles, easy pie.

The funky circles/flowers are from a really cheap set I found at Walmart.

I love this colour combo and the sketch is for one you want to save.

I am hoping for some time to stamp today.

The snowflake is a CB cut and emboss die, really easy to do.

Sentiment from SU and the rest is pretty basic and probably done before.

It is a fairly simple card to make so I might make a couple more.

Is it just me, that I always think that there will be enough time??
Oh well, the good thing is that there is never a boring moment!

The weather is beautiful again, so while I go for a walk I can think about the next card.

A fall card with buttons, ssnotime59

This is my take on it.

I also did a sympathy card like this one, without the buttons and gold stickles on the leaves.

You cann't really see the stickles in the picture but they blend in

nicely with the gold cord through the buttons.

The weather is so nice now, after all that rain we had last night and today.

Quick baby card

Last night I did realize that I needed a baby boy card for church this morning, so I quickly made this one.

I am sure something like this is been done before, but I do like how it turned out and I am planning to make another one with celery and barely banana so that it can be for boy or girl.

The fall card is still in pieces......it just isn't working for me, oh well,

we are going for a walk to enjoy the nice weather.

Sketch challenge 200

My second card for today, this is for SC 200.

I love this set Pocket silhouettes, and I am happy with the card.

It's simple and I had it done in no time, mind you, I did think about what colours I was gonna use and stuff like that while I was cleaning.

Now it's time to open the boxes with Halloween candy and make some bags, as long as they are closed I can leave them alone but once they are open........

Last time..........

I gave this card one more try and that will be it, I just wasn't happy with the result and the previous picture was awful so I did remove it.

I have added a white layer to make it more pop and put red and silver stickles on the tree. The picture is a lot better.

Now I am gonna try to make a flower card with the sketch challenge from Splitcoast, so I hope to be back later.

The fall card

Fall card

This morning I have a nice fall card to share but my computer won't read my memory card.
How frustrating!!
Maybe because it doesn't look like fall at all outside, there is snow on the ground and still more to come.
Some trees still have their leaves and the sun is just coming out, I better take some pictures.

Lily and Milo card

When I was in Holland I bought a couple of the images from

Rachelle Anne Miller, something completely different for me.

This is my first card with them, I coloured the image with regular pencils and Gamsol. I have added some bling, ribbon, a CB border with buttons, the scalloped border and a Nestabilitie diecut.

What can I say? The card is done and I probably have to learn a lot to make these stamps work for me.

I need to make a thank you card so I better give that a try.

Cuttlebug card

This card has no stamping on it, there is a verse on the inside but nothing stamped on the outside.

It is all cuttlebug, my friend has this CB set.

Some yellow stickles on the candles , 2 silver brads, some ribbon and that's it.

I think this is a cute card for my nephew.

More Christmas cards

Today was a fun day!

My friend Jeannette came over and we had some shopping time and some stamping time.

It cann't get any better than that!

I am not sure about the one with the Christmas tree, maybe it needs "something" but I cann't figure out what.

I was planning to keep my Christmas cards simple this year, after all, it is the thought that counts.

No fall card but 2 Christmas cards

The fall card didn't turn out like I wanted so I have put it aside and pulled out some of my Christmas stamps.

The one with the tree (Sizzix die) is my favourite,

I don't know if you can see the silver stickles but I really like it and it was not too much work.

The picture of the snowflake one is not so good,

I did put some crystal stickles on the image which looks a lot better IRL.

It is good to be back in my stamping space and I did realize it is about time to start my Christmas cards.........I am sure all of you are way ahead of me!

Home again........

I am back home!!!! It was really good to see my family and friends, the workshop was a lot of fun, the weather was nice.........my son and I were both sick for 2 days, that wasn't fun at all, but it was still a good trip. I hate saying goodbye to my family in Holland but I did miss "my men" at home, I guess that's part of life when you immigrate.
Today I had a little stamping time, hope to post it tomorrow because I want to change something, not quite happy as it is now. I was inspired by the beautiful fall colours!!
So I am still alive and very happy to be home again.

The new SU colours

I have spent my Saturday helping out at the church with a Youth Group fundraiser, teaching 4 different cards, having lots of fun, what a good way to spend National Cardmaking Day.
This card I made yesterday, playing with some of the new SU in colours.
Lots of fun too.
This card is for my niece, who is spending a year in China to go to the university there.
On Wednesday I am leaving to go see my family in Holland and I am also teaching a workshop for my sisters and their friends.
I am really excited about that, wouldn't it be nice to get my travel expenses covered??
I don't think that will happen but family time is price less!!
So I won't be posting any cards for about 2 weeks, I hope you girls come back to visit my blog, have a good day, Anja

Simple thank you card

Some girls have said to me, you have put on a counter, now don't forget to put on your cards..........and they are right, so here is one of my latest creations.

I am busy working on different projects but I cann't show them yet, I am preparing cards for my church for a fundraiser on Saturday and 4 different cards for a workshop I am doing in Holland. Don't think I get my travel expenses covered, lol!

This one is for a friend, a got this set just now and had to use it.

Bravo burgundy and mellow moss, 2 scored lines along the bottom and I did punch some holes in the scalloped edge but it's hard to see in the picture.

More sparkling flowers and a pin

My dear sister asked me for some blanc cards and since I am going to see her in a little over 2 weeks I am happily making her some cards.

The flower stamp is from a friend, it's on my wish list, and has some

stickles on it, another home made pin, ribbon and that's it.

When I was putting the card together I realized that I have used another shade of purple in the ink, o well, it still turned out okay.

For TECC34 I made this card, when I was leaving her a comment that I had made a card for this I realized how I really did stick to the sketch.
The dp is from American Crafts, so saffron from SU and the red is from Hobby Lobby.
I put some stickles on the flowers in the bird, but it's hard to see in the picture, the fake stitches are done with a stamp from Close to my Heart, the bird is from Inkadinkadoo and the saying from Verve stamps.
I am happy with this colour combo, after all tomorrow fall will start.

Butterflies in teal and turqoise

I am busy preparing cards for a group of ladies who are making cards for the foodbank. They plan a night and then like to make a pile of 3 different cards, that's where I come in, I am asked to do all the prep work.
This card is not all my own idea, a card similar to this one I had made at a workshop a while ago, I changed some things and added the scalloped circle with the sentiment. A watercoloured frog, WSC57

As you can see, I have put the flowers aside, for now anyway......

This little frog is a single stamp from Magenta and is watercoloured with Tombo markers, I am not sure how well I like my watercolouring but it's done. On the wasabi green I have used a bubble stamp from Inkadinkadoo with versamark.

The sketch is from Beate, WSC57 but I was too late to post it.

I cann't get enough of those Hero arts flowers, this one is also coloured with Tombo markers and has stickles on top. The layout is from a challenge from

The pin I have made myself, an ordinairy sewing pin, metal glue and beads, so much fun to make and easy. For the stopper at the end I use an plastic earring thing, you know, so they don't fall out of your ear, don't know the word.

The punch is from Martha Stewart and there is no sentiment on the card, sometimes you need a card like that.

I should know better.....SC 193.

I have been such a bad blogger, just couldn't find the time...excuses, excuses, you would think that by now I should know that if you just don't take the time you'll
never get a change to stamp.
And I miss it so much, not even funny.
So with that said, I am gonna try to be a better blogger. Because I want to.
Last night I looked up some of the challenges and they are on my work table now, this is for SC 193.
Hot pink and olive, don't know if I ever put those colours together before but it started with some pink scraps and the flower, which I made on Monday.
The idea of the ribbon and the brads is not my own, I saw it somewhere but don't remember where. The little sentiment from Morningstar is just the perfect size for the little oval.
There is some Stickles on the flower and I used my CB dots folder, I really enjoyed making this card, it is a real "Anja" card, that's what my DH says.

Birthday flowers

This morning I had so much fun stamping with friends.
It looks like life is back to normal, kind of, and we had a good time stamping.
On Saturday my favourite stamp store STAMPART in London had a lovely sale,
and I got some of those Hero arts flowers. If you know me, I love flowers so I couldn't resist.
No surprises here!
So this morning I just had fun with those new stamps, watercolour paper and my Tombo markers and then of course I had to finish at least one card this afternoon.

Birthday card for my mom

Early this morning I made this card for my Mom's birthday tomorrow.

A while ago she gave me some corsage pins and beads from when I was a little girl,

couldn't believe she still had some and since I am always teasing her about keeping every thing.....she told me she wanted a card with a pin.

The stamp is from Rubber Stampede, I got it on our last trip for half price, I love a good deal.

I stamped it in chocolate chip and coloured the flowers with a pink stardust pen, a little bit of silver in the centre of the flowers, ribbon from Martha Stewart and a silver brad in the middle of the flower, CB dots folder and my home made pin. I hope she likes it.

Back to "normal"....

Wow, it's been so long.......finally we are back to our routine, that's what I like to think.

This is a very simple, sympathy card, the first card I have made in a couple of weeks.

My stamp room is pretty organized and there is a new set on my table, hope to ink it up soon.

Something old, something new........

It's Friday and time for another challenge from Sharon,

Today the challenge is to use an old stamp or a newer one and something else "old".

The card I made is done with a Penny Black stamp, fairly new to me,

the saying is from Verve stamps (also fairly new) and the pin is old,

very old, I had to dig for them.........and the beads........really old, didn't know I had them.

So an old pin, some beads and a drop of glue makes a pin, a very cheap one, I just love it, that must be the "Dutch touch" LOL!

Finally another card..........

Finally I made a card this week........there was just no time and when I had a change last night, nothing worked. I made a mess, tried a lot of things but nothing accomplished.

Today I had more luck. I have used this colour combo and flower before but I really like it. Wasabi, cool caribbean and teal.

For the flower I used my twinkling H2O's and silver stardust pen.

For the scalloped border I used my long rectangle nestabilities.

Pretty simple and pretty basic but I feel good about this one.

I found it a hard but elegant challenge and this is what I made for it.

There was no stamp time this week, just busy with farm and life we are hoping to finish straw tomorrow. There is wheat and straw in lots of places in my house too but it is nice that the boys are very helpful.

Super quick card

used her Martha Steward punch on one of her cards recently and I completely forgot I had that one, so....here is my card.

The flower is from SU, and I put some pink twinkling H2O on it, very carefully because I had used dye ink and normal cardstock.

But I just wanted to have some shimmer on the flowers to make them pop. The ribbon looks way better IRL and the saying is from Stampendous, a little bling and some scored lines on the top and bottom.......all done.

A super quick card

Last night I made this card super quick with scraps on my table for my son who went for his G2 drive test this morning and he got it.

So I am very proud , I know now the worrying start but that's all part of it.
