Watercolour garden

This was one of the first stamp sets I got, mini watercolour garden from SU. It's been in a drawer for a while....but now I took it out. So inspired by all the beautiful flower cards I see on Pinterest and such. Sentiment is cut with the Silhouette. Just stopping by to say HELLO!

Recently I came across some beautiful stamps from Altenew, and I fell completely in love!!!!

There is lots on Pinterest too.....I cased this card! Planning on CASING a few more....

Sentiment is cut by the Silhouette. Flowers are coloured with Prismacolour pencils and Gamsol.

Happy Saturday! Halloween treats this week, this is the challenge over at the CRAZIES.

This is a real challenge for me....I don't really DO Halloween, I do hand out candy to about 3 kids in my neighbour hood and when the kids were younger we would go dressed up around the block, talking to all the neighbours and always came home with soooo much candy. My excuse is, I did not grow up with it, lol. in Holland they don't have Halloween. But I tried, and my silhouette came to the rescue.

Drawing flowers....

Recently I got some adult colouring books, not that I want to colour in them but I like them for showing me how to draw some flowers and such. Honestly, I was never good at drawing, but I can copy.

After I did the flower, coloured it with Derwents , I put some glaze over it and then I did the background with a stencil and some distress inks.

The flower is partly cut out to make the oval overlay fit, sentiment from Taylored expressions.

C4C 301, put a tag on!

Happy Saturday! The challenge today over at the CRAZIES is to put a tag on your card/project.

You can check it out HERE. I searched in my Silhouette library and came across this elegant one and since I needed a card for an egagement, I decided to use it with a shimmery white and gold paper.

The background is a plain piece of white paper, stamped with Versafine and a Cornish Heritage background stamp, I then put perfect pearls on it.Rolled flowers from MFT, some punches and a sentiment from Just Rite. It was hard to get a good picture, too bad you can't see the nice shimmer.

C4C300, by the wind...

It's Ride the wind day today, in case you did not know that, so for the challenge over by the CRAZIES we would like you to make a card inspired by wind or something that "rides" on the wind.

Well, I could not resist, lol. As you may know I am from Holland, we immigrated to Canada in 1999 and I am proud to be Canadian now.

The first thing that comes to my mind when thinking about this challenge was a windmill so I made this very Dutch card, hope you like it! The idea of the tile came from Splitcoast. Stamp set from SU, it's called the Netherlands!

Trying out the MISTI

Hope your summer is going well. We don't take holidays in the summer but I am for sure enjoying some down time stamping and hanging out around the pool.Some of my friends and I all ordered a MISTI, we had a fun day picking it up and now lots of fun using it.

It's very helpful for the stampsets like this one from Hero Arts, where you stamp several layers.

It will help you save paper, and heaven forbid that we ran out of paper, lol!

Anyhow, I used it to make this card along with some distress inks, an old French script background from SU and a sentiment ( can't remember the set now).

C4C299, sketch challenge!

Happy Saturday! Third week of the month is sketch challenge over at the CRAZIES.

I made a few changes....the panel with the flower is supposed to be on the left but that did not work for me.

The flower is drawn by me.....well, I have bought an adult colouring book and tried to copy one of the flowers in there.It's coloured with prismacolour pencils and I put Crystal Effects on it. I then cut it out,phew.

Put some peacock feathers ink and tumbled glass ink on a sheet of plastic, spritzed it with water and smooshed it over the oval, cut from Bristol smooth paper. Designer paper came out of my stash, sentiment from Just Rite. I should really use my mini paper pads more often....

Thinking of you!

I had some time to play today....I started out with a piece of hot press watercoloured paper, I inked up the whole piece with Versafine. With painters tape I taped the whole piece down, applied some light blue pan pastels, then I added some blue brusho powder and misted it lightly with water. Then I walked away....that was the hard part, lol. When I came back, I sprayed the whole piece with some pearl glimmermist and let it dry again.
The stamp from Our Daily Bread was stamped with black versafine and embossed with black embossing powder. Some black matting, score lines and a sentiment to finish this card off.

C4C 297, a happy card!

Saturday means challenge time over at the CRAZIES. I am hoping that Mr. Blogger will work properly, since I am away to the stamping convention in Novi.....happy weekend to me , lol!

The challenge is to make a card with HAPPY on it, I stamped the flowers first, coloured them  with Derwents and put some glaze over them. I then put distress inks with a bit of water on the stencil and put it over top, added the sentiment and some dots.  The stamps and stencil come in a set from Studio490 and is called Darling Daisies. C4C296, royal colours

Use royal colours on your card/project, that is the challenge this week over at the CRAZIES.

So I went with purple, started a piece of hot press watercolourpaper with a light wash of shimmery watercolour paints and then added some purple Brusho powder, I used a circular motion with a sponge to get a bit of pattern in there. Third Saturday of the month....sketch time at the CRAZIES. Sketches are a great starter point for me, takes away a lot of guessing, you just follow the sketch, lol. I tried some purple brushos on glossy paper, such a different effect and I was happy with the result.

Brusho's, prills and stamps

Just playing with some brusho's in my craft room and some new stamps....I put a glossy layer of varnish over top, makes it shiny , really like this effect. Till next time, Anja

Ombre look.....

Happy Saturday! Challenge time for the CRAZIES, this time we were asked to get the ombre look...

I used distress inks to get mine and a stamp from Penny Black. Milled lavender and seedless grapes were the colours I used. Not too sure about the ribbon.....it really looks better IRL.

Bister and colour burst together!

Yesterday was a rainy day so perfect time to play ..... I made a background where I combined some bister and colour bursts and this is the result.

Stamps are Stampscapes and heat embossed with black.

Made a background with Pan pastels and distress inks, sprayed with a sealant.

I so messed up last week.....but the good thing was that my card was early, lol.

This one is cut with the Silhouette and I used a Sketch pen to put the sentiment on, love the off set button that  you can cut it out so perfect. Now to get it in the mail to Holland on time....

Hello color bursts.....

Saying hello to you all with a card done with the color bursts and a sentiment cut with the Silhouette!

The little bottles with color burst from Ken Oliver are fun to play with and super duper easy. Just add water, first or after you put the water on your paper, different effects, love it all. The colors will blow you away!

C4C 288, it's almost summer time.....

Happy Saturday! It's a fun challenge this week over at the CRAZIES. Barbera is asking us for a card/project with your favourite summer destination...that's easy, mine is the beach! We are lucky enough to live pretty close to Lake Huron where we can enjoy beautiful beaches. I started with cutting an oval out and a frame, then I both embossed those. The oval I used to make my beach scene, with tumbled glass for the sky and antique linen for the sand, the grass is from Rubbernecker. The chair is from the Silhouette, I cut it out once normal and once with the off set function , so I could layer them, some brown ink to sponge on and some bronze Viva pearls for the nails and such, the seagulls are also from the Silhouette.

Now, to just sit in this chair, listen to the waves and read a book!

I stamped this Penny Black flower after inking it up with distress inks, I splattered on some dots and used a shiny background. The shiny stuff is hard to photograph.

Happy Anniversary!

Today is Saturday and I completely forgot to make a card for the CRAZIES.......but I did make one for my sisters anniversary..... I got me some bister and colourbursts! A girl can never have enough supplies, lol, the products are slightly different and I love it all!!This background is done with the new colour bursts from Ken Oliver. The red leaves are sponged on with barn door distress ink. At first I could not decide what colour I should use for the butterfly...I cut a red one but then decided on the  black one with a red background.

The same stamp....

Sorry, ladies, you would think I owe only one stamp, lol. But I can't get enough of this Magenta stamp and I needed another thank you card. The background is different...I used some acrylic paints, put them on my craft sheet and added a bit of water, I then pulled my watercolour paper through it and dabbed it with a paper towel. I went back in with a wet papertowel and some yellow paint. So simple and I love the effect.

The challenge this week at the CRAZIES is to put eyes on your card......I had to really think about it....My silhouette came to the rescue, I cut the glasses and the letters, the flower is a memory box die and for the dot on the i, I used googlie eyes ( not sure if thats the correct name).

Playing with watercolours!

A bright birthday card for a friend! I have been trying different things with some Koi Watercolours...for this card I started out with a piece of watercolour paper, spritzed it wet and started to apply 3 different colours, while still wet, I used a sponge to get some texture.

The stamp is from Magenta, I have used it a lot lately, it's just so pretty,  I think. Sentiment from Just Rite.

C4C 280, a daisy card!

Hello Friends! Saturday means a new challenge over at the CRAZIES. The flower of the month April is a Daisy, so that's the challenge, use a daisy on your card/project.

I couldn't  find my daisy dies......my craft room is a bit of a disaster, lol. The Silhouette helped me out, I made the background with watercolours and then I sprayed pearl glimmermist over it, once it was dry, I added a few dots, the sentiment and the cut out daisy. Love the Spring colours!
