Inspired by Judy
The first thing I did this morning was go to my craft room and make a card, forget about the mess in the house , the laundry and what not.....I had to make card, lol! The picture doesn't do this card justice, in real life the two pinks are a good match. My inspiration came from Judy Kennedy, she doesn't have a blog but her cards are on display at SGD, she is also a designer and every time her works blows me away! A sizzix embossing folder, sentiment from Just Rite, IO die, Memory Box die, Cheery Lynn leave, MS leaves, pearls and goosebumps, a long list of supplies and so much fun.
Have a great day, Anja

Craft a Scene.....Trees!
Good morning! A new month is here, so it's time for a new challenge over at CRAFT A SCENE! This month our challenge is trees, please come and play with us and show us some trees! Before you know it, the beautiful fall colours will come.
For my card I started with a sponged background. First I made the hills at the bottom, using Memento black and london fog. The sun is sponged on with Tim Holtz squeezed lemonade and I have tried to put some of that colour around it. The sky is done with Tim Holtz weathered wood, going lighter towards the hills. In the right bottom corner I have added some scrubs, it is done with the top of a Stampscapes stamp, maple trio small, with pine needles and some black ink. The big tree is also a Stampscapes stamp, SC 226 E twisting oak and the bird is SC 162 A, solo duck. Borderpunch from Martha Stewart and a sentiment from Hero arts.

Thinking of you
This is a card I made for a very special lady Sheila, owner of SGD !!! A lot of us at the store signed it! I had the pleasure to make the card, the dp is from Echo Park, butterflies from Martha Stewart, sentiment from Hero Arts, and the flowers are rolled up flowers from MFT, after I made them, I sprayed them with glimmermist, love that effect. The embossing folder used here is seeing spots. Let`s hope we brightened her day!!

Anything goes....with CRAFT A SCENE!
Anything in the great outdoors....that is our challenge this month over at CRAFT A SCENE! So come and join us and show us your scenery cards!
I had so much fun making this card, I am even gonna teach this one at a class at SGD. I build the scenery with Heartfelt Creations scenery builders set and Art Impression stamps. The deer are from a Memory Box die. The embossing folder at the bottom is from Darice, floss from Sew Easy.
Let me tell you what I did, I coloured the stamps with Tim Holtz markers on watercolour paper and then I took a brush with a little bit of water and watered down the ink. I really like this effect, you do it step by step using the heat gun to dry one colour before you move on to the next one. Here is a list of the markers: walnut stain, peeled paint, vintage photo, crushed olive, forest moss, tumbled glass.
Please check out the site today and check out the beautiful work from the designers! Come and play with us if you like, we would love to have you join us! Have fun, Anja

Garden scene for CRAFT A SCENE
As I said in my first post for Craft a Scene , I do not like to garden and my husband does most of the yard work. He loves big rocks and trees, and after 13 years here our back yard looks like a park! I simply enjoy all his hard work!
So I was thinking about that while I was making this card, the dog is chasing the butterfly as I wanted to make it a bit more playful. I started out stamping the garden foreground from Art Impressions with memento ink. Then I added the twisted oak, SC 226 E from stampscapes. I inked the stamp up with Tim Holtz distress markers ( vintage photo ,peeled paint, forest moss).
I coloured the foreground and the rock with Spectrum Noir markers and Prisma pencils. The wildflowers were added and I have no idea who made them, the set has no name, sorry. I also added some greenery between the trees with a sedge filler from Stampscapes.
Some flowers were added with SU ink, more mustard and perfect plum, around the rocks. The dog is from Pergamano Flower girls, stamped, coloured, cut out and popped up. The butterflies are from Martha Stewart, the red frame is also made with Martha Stewart punches.
The roses are made with a die from MFT, I also sprayed them with gold glimmermist. At last, I had to add some stickles on the flowers, yellow and fruit punch.Ribbon is from my stash.
All in all, lots of steps to make this card, hope you like it and that you have a change to play with us! Thanks for stopping by, Anja

One more baby card...
Completely forgot to post this one....another baby card, same image, same layout, nothing too exciting! Summer is here and life gets in the way of my crafting and blogging time, lol!
The weather has been hot, did I say HOT, and we have used the pool a lot. We got new windows installed so I had to give my house a good cleaning, all done now! The boys are all working, and they all start pretty early, like 5 AM, and 6.30 AM, but that is for the boys, I still get to sleep in a little. So there is a lot of driving involved since they not all have their license yet, how I love being a mom!!
I hope to do some stamping today, have a great day, Anja

Flower pots in the garden
Happy CANADA DAY!!! I am very proud to be Canadian, very thankful to live in this great country! A part of me will always be Dutch, but Canada is our home now.
A new challenge over at CRAFT A SCENE, our theme this month is "in the garden" and HEARTFELT CREATIONS is our sponsor, come on over and play with us! To be honest, I don't like to garden, thankfully my dh does, but I love spending time in the garden. This year we made our deck bigger and we have lots of pots with flowers, I used this as my inspiration.
For this card I used some Penny Black stamps, from the set In the garden and stamped some flower pots, coloured them with Spectrum Noir markers and Prismacolour pencils. I also popped up some little flowers. The sky is sponged on with Tim Holtz in, tumbled glass. I added some grass from Rubbernecker, sentiment is from Hero Arts. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.
After I coloured the image, I got out my stickles...I have used a lot of different colours and if I didn't have the matching colour, I used diamond, will go with any colour.

High hopes baby card
CLICK ON THE CARD FOR A BETTER LOOK!
There are no baby cards in my box so I decided that I need a couple of those, I don't have a lot of High Hopes stamps but this one is a favourite. I pulled out my TOMBO'S and watercoloured, hadn't done that in ages and it felt good to sit and play. After the colouring was done, I cut out the image and put it on the Cheery Lynn doily and put stickles on. Some score lines, a bow, sentiment from SU and bling, to finish the card off.
Hope you like it, have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Relax, this is your day!
Happy Sunday! Hope you get to relax this day! I love Sundays, we go to church and usually do something fun or relaxing, visit with friends and today we have a good, old church picnic.
My card today is for CRAFT A SCENE, my second card with a beach scene, hope you will join us in the fun too! I have used Rubbernecker stamps, they are our sponsor this month by the way, from the set by Kittie , cause a scene. Lots of images to make a beach scene. My stampscapes came in handy too, for the clouds with sun, 107 E, and cloud bits, 292 C, and the water stamp, SC 231.
A variety of Tim Holtz inks (squeezed lemonade, faded jeans, scattered straw) were used and some SU colours, baja breeze and artichoke. Borderpunch from EK, a white gelpen to highlight the water, twine, sentiment from Heartfelt creations (western sentiments). The birds are from Clear Dollar stamps. One more....second post today C4C138
I just had to make one more......and then I found out about this challenge, you can look it up HERE. My friend Andrea is on their design team. One layer and embellishments are allowed....this fits right in, I think. I made a mask with my oval nestabilities and sponged Tim Holtz distress inks on, I have used the following colours:
-tumbled glass, faded jeans, squeezed lemon, peeled paint, dried marigold.
Then I stamped the branches in Versafine black, they are from the set delicate branches, made by Inkadinkadoo, sentiment from Just Rite, fancy tags. The next step is spraying it with Tim Holtz gold glimmermist (with the mask still in place) The birds are from a Mc Gill punch, bling and ribbon from my stash. Some score lines were added with the scor pal.
This is an easy way to make a card, get out your inks and try it too! Thanks, Anja

Happy Father's day!
Can you tell I am loving the distress inks from Tim Holtz? They are so fun and easy to play with and create beautiful backgrounds. This little stamp is from Prima stamps, 7 pieces for under $3 over at SGD. I don't know who made the sentiment, punch from Martha Stewart and some embossing folders. And let's not forget the twine. I followed a sketch I found online, www.worldofcrafters.org/
You should check it out too! Thanks for stopping by, Anja
